I have been researching a bike for riding in Western CO. and Moab and have been looking at these bikes. I have not been able to test ride on. Can you tell me how it rides? How does it climb? What bikes did you choose it over? What fork did you choose? Why did you go with the coil shock? Did you go with the maxel? How do you think it rides compared to a 5 inch travel 29r?
The “One” rides awesome. It climbs very well when the Pro-Pedal on the Fox shock is locked all the way out. The descent is amazing. You truly have to ride it to appreciate it. Incredibly nimble and the travel sucks up everything. I went with the coil shock on the recommendation of the Canfield guys. It was a great choice. I am running the Fox 36 Talas. Again, awesome choice. It’s a very stiff fork with the 20mm thru axle. I did not go with the maxel. I have not ridden a 29er with 5 inch travel. Just knowing how a typical 29er rides though, I can’t imagine you could make a 29er as nimble as the One.

Nice ride dude! Is that a Cane Creek S3 + 5 headset? How much downtube clearance do you have with your current setup? I’m looking at building a medium up with lyrics which I believe to have higher adjustment knobs, and am wondering if I can get away with it.
I am sporting the Cane Creek S3+5 headset. You basically have no clearance on the downtube though…in fact I have a couple of chingas on my downtube from the knobs on the Talas 36 coming around and beating it up a little. Also, you may want to check their website, but I think the Canfield guys may be out of Mediums. I am selling my medium (as it happens) on ebay. Gonna get a new one next year and play around with setting it up slightly differently. Good luck with your build!!! They’re awesome bikes!
